Acrodermatitis Enteropathica
Abstract
A 2 ½-year-old girl with acrodermatitis Enteropathica is presented. She suffered of diarrhea, skin lesions and total alopecia since she was 2 ½ months old. She was admitted to the hospital in poor general condition and severely malnourished. The zinc level in blood serum was remarkably low. The therapy was started with daily 15 mg zinc sulfate. The recovery was complete. The literature on the disease is reviewed and some aspects of the entity are discussed.
