Cor Triatriatum diagnosed by echocardiography

Abstract

A 42-day-old female infant with Cor Triatriatum and hypoplasia of the left ventricular is presented and anatomical, embryological, clinical and diagnostic aspects of the abnormality discussed. The high value of the echocardiography in the diagnosis of the different anatomical forms of the disease is emphasized. Cardiac catheterism and angiography can be avoided if the anomaly is not associated with other malformations of the heart
