Foreign body in pleural cavity: A case report

Abstract

Grass head aspiration is a common problem in veterinary medicine. This commonly occurs in younger animals who aspirate grass head during play. This is a common problem also in human medicine. Review of the literature revealed a large number of case reports of grass head aspiration predating 1960 in infants and young children. Their rapid movement toward the lung periphery may cause pneumonia, pleural effusion and bronchopleural fistula. They may extrude from the chest wall or other parts of the body.
