Labial adhesion of vulva

Abstract

Labial adhesion of vulva (Synechia vulvae) refers to cases of partial or complete fusion of labia minora or majora in the midline. It is seen in girl 6 months to 6 years of age. It may be related to low circulating levels of estrogen. Treatment in symptomatic cases with local estrogen will be effective in most of the patients. Recurrence is seen in 10-15% of cases.
