Error Sources in Completed Blood Count

Abstract


Complete Blood Count (CBC) is one of the most frequently requested Laboratory tests by clinicians. This simple test delivers important information on hemoglobin, hematocrit, different blood cells (red and white blood cells. platelets) as well as their number and morphology. Provided that an experienced and responsible examiner with god knowledge of the patient's history performs the rest, this test can be of great importance in diagnosing, typing and evaluating the etiology of hematological and many other diseases. Ignores the examiner sources of error, the test can be the cause of an awkward misleading for the clinician.
