Congenital choledochal cyst
Abstract
2 patients, a 6-year old male with a history of fever and diarrhea and clinical findings of paleness and abdominal tumor, and a 15-month old female with jaundice, abdominal tumor, hematemesis and melena, are presented. In both of them laboratory findings showed a biliary occlusion. Imaging methods revealed a cystic tumor in the region of the gall bladder. The children underwent a laboratory, which revealed a choledochal cyst. A cystoduodenostomy was performed and the patients recovered from their symptoms. This case presentation is followed by a brief discussion on etiology, clinical signs and diagnostic methods of the malformation.
